Femara (Letrozole)

The new generation of aromatase inhibitors. Too potent for conventional use. Not for newbies. Has no alternatives when it comes to countering serious gyno.

Things to Know About Femara

  • Class: Supportive
  • Structure: Non-steroidal
  • Aromatization: No
  • How to take: Oral
  • Primary use: Aromatase Inhibitor
  • Compounds in the family: 1 (Femara), closely related to Arimidex (Anastrozole)

Femara, also known as Letrozole, is a potent aromatase inhibitor that significantly reduces estrogen (E2) levels. In fact, it reduces your E2 by 75 to 95%. That’s a lot, since you still need SOME E2 to be a functioning human, walking-talking-getting massive creature, not a depressed infertile zombie.

Femara is essentially a modified and improved version of Arimidex, but it requires extreme caution due to its strength.

Why Care?

Femara is the best aromatase inhibitor you can have, but it should only be used as a last resort. Although it could be a proactive measure if tolerated well, most athletes opt for Aromasin or Arimidex for basic on-cycle support.

Remember, this is powerful stuff and should not be the first choice for lowering E2. Use it only when absolutely necessary.

Femara Side Effects

While Letrozole is highly effective, it comes with harsh side effects such as a crashed lipid profile, insomnia, elevated blood pressure, complete loss of sex drive, and joint pain.

It’s still the best thing you can take, for instance, when estrogenic side effects are severe, or there is significant gynecomastia (not just some increased nipple sensitivity).

Development & History: Know Your PEDs

Femara, known by its generic name Letrozole, was developed by the Swiss pharmaceutical company Novartis. It was initially approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1997.

The primary goal of Letrozole’s development was to treat hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer in postmenopausal women.

Over time, it was discovered that Letrozole could also be beneficial for the bodybuilding community. However, its use outside of its original intent requires caution. Like, real caution. Things that justify Femara are really rare. But if you need it, it’s available for purchase and always in stock.
