Dianabol’s history dates back to the 1950s, when the Cold War was in full swing and the competition between the USA and the USSR extended to the Olympic Games.

Dr. John Ziegler, an American team physician, noticed that Soviet athletes were performing exceptionally well and suspected that they were using testosterone. Some historical sources claim that he had seen them vomiting all over the place behind the curtains — that’s how juiced up those guys were.

To level the playing field AND prevent the American team from going through the same hell of high androgenic side effects, he collaborated with Ciba Pharmaceuticals to create a new steroid that would help American athletes get all the medals.

In 1958, Ciba introduced Dianabol (methandrostenolone) to the market. The initial goal was to create a compound with the anabolic properties of Testosterone but with reduced androgenic effects. This pill quickly gained popularity among athletes, and never lost its popularity since then.
